Yes, hire the most expensive Lawyer you can find. It is your loss.
. Usually these paint shop guys are good because they know they get repeat business from Honda corp. which is worth big money to them.
. Orange peel is no big deal because they put a coat of clear over it...and that fixes it better. No one buffs anything.
That went the way of the buffalo. They now clear coat and that is not buffed. Your friend is behind the moon. Paint procedures have changed.
As for the "Loaner" the body shop supplies them and sometimes they are all out. You are not getting a new car from Honda, you are getting an old chevy, or ford or VW or other shitbox vehicle for the time period that you need a vehicle. Unless you can survive without a vehicle, then go without. They had a dozen loaners and they are all Loaned out as there is that many cars being worked on at the same time in their shop. They do NOT HAVE TO supply you with a Loaner, that is just part of their convenience strategy.
The shop still gets "walk ins". People that want "custom paint jobs" on their cars and are willing to pay the $. I mean they heard you had a good spray painter...and this is not an Insurance job. This is a form of advertising for the shop...so they get even more work.
To have the dealership even look at a car that is 5 years old and do something about it is a STRETCH.
If you had pictures of the car before you entered the body shop, then you have PROOF of its condition. What you got now is "Less than what you had before" OR IS IT? Only the shop had the car, so the shop is responsible for it if there is damage that the shop did.
I know, no one thinks to take pictures of the car before. But if the car was bought in 2019 (it is a 2014 model so it is used) you bought used. What you see is what you got. The paint job could have been brushed on in 5 years...as a quick repair because it did a "WIPE OUT" so the previous owner sold it. You are buying used, you could be buying a RUST BUCKET. No guaranty on the condition. You have eyes, you bought what you saw.
A body shop will not make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
If you bought this car new in 2014 and parked it all this time, what took you so long to complain?
I am thinking you bought a used car in 2019 , 5 years old and want perfection when the car never was perfect since the time you bought it. A body shop is not going to fix it for you unless you pay them because insurance will not wade into that because they are not going to pay.
Tell us the WHOLE STORY, OTHERWISE we are left guessing. My guess is you started with a piece of turd and somehow expected it to turn into a butterfly.
Not today.
The bodyshop may be full within its rights.
. The last stage of any repair is that you get to EYEBALL IT and then sign off on it when it is acceptable to you. Then the shop gets paid.
Seems you signed off on it, so END OF STORY.
Experience...been in a car damage incident (2 months since taken off the new car lot as a new vehicle) so still had the new car smell in it. I didn't get a loaner as there was none left. Which is OK. I could do without the car for a week(9 days) and when I went back, I got to look over the car right there at the autobody shop and inspect it. No problems and signed off as it is satisfactorily fixed. They get paid. Done. I can't cry now. a year later because I didn't see it before. Tough. Body shops are not that bad so am calling your story "FAKE" just because it is not the truth. Sorry, you are making more out of nothing without the proof to back it. Body shops do have a reputation to live up to or they don't get jobs to work on.
