Drivers ED. Help!!!?

live in Texas, and I'm about to turn 15!
What is the process to get your permit in Texas!
My brother's expirence was differnet because he did the at home kind. My parents want to put me in a school!

What is the process of Drivers ed. at a school!!

i need as much help as possible!!
my parents want me to get it as soon as possible!
will be 15 in august!!

I went through it in Texas and basically you have to take 2 DMV classes to get your permit. It doesn't matter if you take those before Driver's Ed, but it helps to get them out of the way. Then you get your permit and spend most of Driver's Ed learning about safety and a little bit driving. At the end of the class, you take a DMV driving test and if you pass, you get a waiver for your license when you turn 16

make sure the age is exactly right. sure its not 15 1/2 or something. Check the internet. You sound fine. Take the school, go to class, lecture, tests (Super easy- I nearly got 100% on them all) on lecture, they want you to succeed! They will take you out on a set number of drives every other week or so. They give you a certificate after classes are over and you take that to the DMV where you can get a license w/ night restrictions on it or something. At 18 you just get the license and no restrictions (pass a real driving test w/ insurance, a car). I did 911 driver school w/ real police officers in WA state. Dont know if texas has it but PICK a good school w/ good credentials!

i'm in NC but some schools (like mine did) hold a drivers ed class afterschool. if they don't have it at your school then you can probably call the dmv or other schools to find out if they have the class. it's only a couple weeks long and just a couple hours a day. then you drive w/ an instructor for just 4 days for about and hour each day. then go to the dmv and they sit you at a computer where you answer a bunch of questions (the permit test). you can skip quesitons on this btw. then if you pass you get a pic taken and that's it. if you fail you have to wait a week and then go back to take it again. btw...the street signs test is in the eye test.



to correct others...you HAVE to take drivers ed before you get your permit.

Nope, just finished it and had never driver anything but a golf cart. It surprisingly easier than you think. Key things to remember are 1. Go the speed limit 2. When you do the three point/two point turns: go slow! 3. Right foot operates gas and brake (most people know this, but just in case) 4. Use common sense And if you DO mess up, s/he has a brake on his/er side. You'll be fine. And you CAN'T fail drivers ed driving so....

I live in Michigan. They offered drivers ed at school, but u can take the class at one of there places. you would have to search the internet to see places to go to. I took the class for I think 3 weeks. Then, you go on the road about 5 to 6 times. Just do good on the road part and you'll get your permit. It cost me about $270

i know that schools do it also. if you are lucky enought o have it somewhere you go to school. but if not rhodes is one. they train you and then you take tests and they are suppose to teach you so you can pass. they let you drive so much also. i think that you can after you turn 15 and you can make arrangements the minute you are 15 and its like you can drive but have to have someone 18 in the car till you are 16 or so its been so long i would go on line and find out they hae rules and stuff and you can read it by calling up drivers training.com or something like that or texas driving.

just got my licence. enter drivers ed, get the permit at 25... get licence earlier and insurance cheaper (some company) This all happens in Indiana anyway

well u need to be 15 and a half to get you permet, and you cant take drivers ed untill u have your permit....but you cant get your liscens unsless u take drivers ed....and drivers ed in school is(i just finiished it) doing nothing all semester, and driving once in a wile.....
