Question:
How much will be car insurance be?
2013-04-10 06:51:55 UTC
The car is a Honda Logo and the first part of the registration is W388
It is manual hatchback, uses petrol and isn't modified.
I have no idea on the mileage.

I am 17 year old new driver.

My mother, father and grandma are all drivers on this car, I will just be an additionAl driver.
They have all been driving 20+ years and have no claims.
I live in an area that is fairly busy.
The car will be parked on a public road outside my house unless in use.
It will be used by me for social only. My other family members use it for running errands and shopping.

How much can I expect my car insurance to be on this car?
Will it be less than £2000?

Thank you

Honestly? This is not an insurance comparison website but the good news is that those do exist so here are some websites to try:

1. Comparethemarket

2. Go compare

3. Swift Cover

4. The A&A Group (also known as Hyper Performance and Insure Your Motor)

Things that will bump up the insurance:

- Engine size more than 1.4 litres

- If the car is parked on the street overnight

- No alarm or immobilizer

- Annual mileage of more than 10,000 miles

- The nature of your work e.g. for some reason certain job titles cost more.

Things that can bring down your insurance:

- Alarm and Immobilizer

- Pass Plus, you can save 3% or more

- Going on to someone else's policy as an aditional driver

- Parking on a driveway or in a garage

- Blackbox insurance, small gadget that monitors your driving habits and rewards you accordingly

- Clean license i.e. no points

- Car that is not desirable and the Honda is not

So it is hard to say for sure without a post code and engine size etc. You will have to look into that one. Best wishes.

You are clearly planning to defraud an insurer by declaring a fraudulent main driver and you who is the real main driver as an occasional one.

THIS IS ILLEGAL AND CAN GET YOU IN A WHOLE LOT OF TROUBLE AND MAY SAVE NOTHING AT ALL. Insurers are very wise to this scam.

Here is a BBC news report on it

The time it's taken to ask this question you could have got a dozen quotes!

Try confused.com or compare the market.com and get very quick and accurate quotes.

Why do so many people ask this same stupid question time and time again?

You will have to ask an insurance company.

How could anyone else possibly know?

That is based on, where you live, age, driving records, vehicle, what coverage, how far you drive vehicle, and type of vehicle.
