If 2 drivers need to be covered for one car, do they both need to be added to the title of the vehicle to be covered equally by the insurance policy?

No, you both don't have to be added to the vehicle title to be covered.. My wife has a car in her name, i have a car in my name, we are both covered on both cars..

names on title are the only names on registration, but others can be added as additional insured to policy. You can't put that car on your policy because it's not in your name or your SPOUSE.S (NOT fiancee, girlfriend, or POSSLQ). If your agent says he can do this, have him verify it with the company.[ The agents for the company I work for do things all the time to 'help out' the insured and then when the underwriter turns it down, the insured calls the service center (that's ME) and yells.] the car should be on a policy under the parent's name with you and fiancee as additional drivers, as you are not on the registration.

Hi,

Good post. I had some problems with my car after I had an accident. My Insurer wanted to raise my rates $525 a year! I've never even gotten a speeding ticket!

I looked for a new provider and found this website:

http://www.ironless.com

They compare all of the major insurance providers and give you the best deal. I ended up saving over $300 from what I was previously paying (that's $825 a year!).

Good Luck

Both drivers need to be added to the policy if they live in the same household.

They don't need to be listed as an owner of a car, just a driver, so you don't need to put them on the title.

No you dont. You can cover anyone on your insurance policy regardless of whether they own the car or not. Be sure to consult with your insurance policy holder to make sure the driver you are covering is accepted.
