I have codes:- B, B1 and FKP whatever that is.

I need to hire the van to move house, i know its something to do with weight limits so a full Luton van might take me over the limits? I passed in 2008.

Thanks for any help?

'Luton' is just a body style, it has nothing to do with weight.

You'll be OK to hire a Transit sized Luton box van, but the hire shop will advise you on the options.

Up to 3500kg (3.5 tonnes) you will be OK, provided you're over 25 and have held your licence for more than 2 years. Otherwise insurance may be an issue.

A Luton type van doesn't always have that much usable space sometimes a maximum sized straight panel van has more capacity. Before you hire ask what is available and what's the cubic capacity .

Yes, but hire companies often specify a minimum age and number of years for which the full licence has been held, especially for bigger vans. Do a Yahoo Local search and check out their websites.

Category B1 - tricycles and quadricycles, under 400kg unladen.

Category F - agricultural tractors.

Category K - mowing machines or pedestrian-controlled vehicles.

Category P - mopeds (any motorcycles or scooters, with an engine smaller than 50cc). Must be validated with a DL196 certificate.

If you have C1 category there should be no problem.
