Okay so I recieved a letter telling me I owe parking tickets and they plan of towing my car and selling it at an auction if I don't pay that are looking for a New York state license plate now I have the same car but I moved and have my car registered in Florida I still come to New York at times to stay and visit, is it possible they can identity the car ? I would assume no because they don't walk up to cars and check vin numbers they normally look for the plate number and my license plate is different from what they have on file

Was the letter addressed to you in Florida, or was you mail forwarded from NY?

Most DMV offices are linked in every state. So, when you registered the car in FL, then FL DMV could have notified NY DMV of your "new" plate number.

Seriously, pay those tickets, since do you want to take a chance that you get unlucky coming back to NY and have your vehicle towed?

If they have your address (You received a letter), they have access to your registration and plate, they can find your car. Don't drive your car in New York, until you've settled your tickets. They want your money, not the car.
You may be right

Usually it will go by name, so if you own the car even if in Florida and you go back to New York and get pulled over, then you will go to jail. So don't drive in New York if you owe parking tickets and try to pay it so you don't have to worry about it anymore.

Probably; yeah?
